Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew

We had some time off while waiting for our viva and result confirmations, so we headed down to Kew Gardens - a total of 300 acres of greenery to wander about! The red building is Kew Palace, wasn't too impressed by that. But all the plants and greenhouses around more than made up for it.

On a guided walking tour, we learnt that Kew houses the world's largest compost and together with royal horse manure from buckingham palace, that's probably the secret ingredient to growing all the luscious flowers and plants in Kew gardens. Look at the tall catuses and huge water lilies. I really loved the water lilies and apparently, it can take the weight of a baby child on it. heh.

Although not all the flowers were in bloom, there were plenty of areas with nice colourful flowers. Very very beautiful. It seems as if Kew tries to plant as many varieties as it can in a small area.

And it is ROSE season: and there were just so many colours of roses in the rose garden, and very picturesque in front of the tropical greenhouse.

And we got cheeky with the 3D visual specs and children's playground. =)
