Saturday Nov 15
finally got my mobile!! went together with ee-wen and kai leng to high st ken vodafone...we were standing in the shop for abt 1 1/2 hours?!? actually, wasn't really planning to get the line yet...only wanted to check out the plans...but the guy gave us an irresistable deal...that was a free sony erricsson T60(?- juz noe it's very good lah)and a free dvd player. so now...20 quid will fly out of my pocket monthly....gee...*xin tong*
anyhow, we eventually left the shop. stopped by to get tauhu for the pot luck at yuwei's room later. one slab costs 1.5quid...i think we won't be buying it for a long time to come. finally got back to my room...all exhausted and tired from lack of sleep...BUT....had to dress up for raffles night....ee-wen enxin and val came over to help decide wat to wear...took quite some time deciding...putting the make-up was horrible....the light in my room is so dim..it was so hard to determine if there was enough eye shadow and blush on my face(think my cheeks ended up a tad too pink in the end)...and the 3 giggling girls were having such a fun time putting mousse on my hair that evening too...haha...think my room was really in a state of mess by the time they were done. kudos to them though for trying to ba wo da ban de piao piao liang liang. =)
went together with raymond to raffles night..raymond was really nice...he came all the way to pick me up from fisher hall..and volunteered to send me back after that too....heh...*gan ji bu jing* yup..anyway...we both went with a bit of anxiety cos we didn't think that we wld noe many pple there since our closer frens(*ahem* coughs at mingyan) didn't want to go for it. well...due to some mistake in planning, raymond and i didn't sit at the same table in the end..heh..you must be thinking how miserable we must have been right..haha..yah..we thought we would be too and 'demanded' a refund from val our senior...heh....but turned out that we both ended up at tables with friends we knew!
set with mainly the cambridge pple...kow, jac, tzo zen, lawrence....and hui min who was in the same class as me for one day in rjc! haha...wat a small world indeed.. half way chatting and through dinner(which was definitely not the highlight of the night for me), the fire alarm went off!! and worse still, we were asked to evacuate the room...which totally inconvenienced us...plus left our food cold when we returned to our seats later. played some games like they played snippets of 21 songs from like serials, movies, cartoons, rj...etc...thought my table was pretty good..i mean..they actually managed to guess the 'days of our lives' song..wow...heh..but we didn't win in the end..then played some spastic quiz game...heh...i think kow kind of embarrassed himself...but redeemed himself when we won in the end. oh..then there was this drinking game where the first person who downs 1 pint of beer will get a 10quid borders voucher..yah..so 6 guys went up...then it was really funny..cos when the game started, 4 of them juz toasted each other and happily sipped away at their free beer...totally hilarious....of course...at the end of the dinner....everybody went round taking photos with each other...surprising how i actually knew pple there..haha....saw lin li, jasmine, joanne, yongwei that night....not bad...quite fulfilling i must say.
well, that was not the end of the day for me....the phrase 'the night is still young' aptly describes it....went back to evelyn gardens with raymond and went over to yuwei's room where eda's bday celebration was abt to be held...well..yuwei's room is really beeg...plus given the fact that his roommate is permanently invisible, seemed like almost all the 1st year singaporeans were in his room that night. poor eda was made to lick the remains of her cake base but she was a real good sport abt it. spent some time hanging ard before i decided to leave and get rid of my make up and mousse...gee....will never want to have to do this again in a long while...
Sunday Nov 16
went for polo training and met another singaporean, adrian.....how qiao....
had a big dinner again at bernard sunley, this time with guests: enxin's cousin christabelle, plus my good fren from singapore...we had corn soup, plus black bean sauce ginger chicken, plus apple strudel with hagen daz ice-cream(baileys, and praline chocolate flavours).....simply delicious!
Monday Nov 17
ate hor fun at leichester square!!! then went to the london zoo with my good fren, her siblings and her dad...although it was raining quite heavily(nth like that in s'pore...but you get totally drenched here cos you walk w/o shelter for such a long while), our spirits were definitely not dampened.
well, london zoo used to be quite a tourist attraction, but right now...the std has deteriorated...we were disappointed at first as there were no longer elephant and giraffe enclosures....however...as we walked through the massive aquarium(saw 'dory' and 'nemo' there and really mini starfishes=)), saw the huge lions, tigers, anteaters, and the small little penguins....we got positively happier at each stop. the highlight that day was definitely the gorilla. was raining, so the gorilla was hiding in the shelter...and we could look into his shelter through a glass separator....well...so my fren and her siblings were trying to get the gorilla to move and come closer...and the gorilla did respond...so it kind of walked slowly towards the glass panel..one step at a time....yah...SLOWLY.....so we were all kind of excited that it was actually at such close vicinity...yah...and you noe wat happened?!? SUDDENLY, the mischievous gorilla jumped towards the glass pane and hit it with it's paw really hard.....*BHAM* can you imagine our shock and nerves when that happened...my goodness gracious...we all jumped backwards when he did that...so scary...as though he was going to attack us....and the naughty naughty gorilla happily ran away...tsk....well...i must say that gorillas are intelligent animals..after all..they do have 99% similar gene sequence as humans don't they?
had nice dark chocolate cake in the evening as it was my fren's younger bro's bday that day....really nice...and the candles were like really thin and long(length of a ruler)...yah....looked kind of flimsy but they were so colourful!!
reallly tired now as i woke up at 5am this morning to send my fren off....will collect my laundry and take a nap =)
