it's been a really long day today....woke up as usual for 9-11am lectures.....weather today was super cold..i'm estimating 3-4 degrees...yup..no joke...kind of miss the warmth of singapore..but then again...now..i'm not sure which i prefer really...
i didn't sleep during lectures today!! yAy..close to it but was kept awake by the pple behind me who were talking non-stop for 2 hrs!! totally distracting...anyway...went down to the library and borrowed 5 books!! sure felt like a mugger carrying all those books..but i'm pretty sure i'll never finish reading even one of them....can't believe i'm going to be slogging the next few days to prepare for a 10 min presentation which constitutes 0.001% of my final degree...gee...
hung around the SAF(sir alexander fleming) bldg for a while...the food there is slightly cheaper than that of MDH(main dining hall) and they've got a good variety of chocolates!! tried to do abit of my website..got the tag board up..but dunno why..it doesn't seem to be working...then headed for lab....did H&E staining and microscopy today....staining was kind of fun...felt quite pro decked up in my lab coat and nitrile gloves...my lab partner is from GERMANY!!! he's called Sebastian Kelm..interesting surname..yup..he's nice..one of those mild sorts..and i understand him perfectly well..no accent what soever...cOOl...microscopy was boring..really hate the binocular eye pieces..can never seem to focus them into one image...who cares...cos i still managed to see details on the 40x lens which the rest only saw on the 100x...haha...my eyes must be really keen...=))
anyway..ended at 5pm...went to the great hall with manda to see if sing soc was having badminton there..but it was EMPTY!! yah..so we hung ard for abt 2-3 min..got impatient..and left for evelyn gardens....got back...happily chatting..then decided to go check if enxin was in the kitchen cooking..and guesss what??? I LOCKED MYSELF OUT OF MY ROOM!!! cos i left the keys on my bed...how careless..yup...got freaked out for a while..cos room mate cheryl was definitely not coming back tonight...*biTes nails*..thankfully i met my neighbours erika and tanya who instructed me to call my subwardens who hold the master key to all the rooms...yup...tried like at least 5 numbers before i found someone who could help me...yah...re-entrance was acheived in a span of 10 min...yup..g8 =))
had a good dinner today....whole mushrooms with oyster sauce, omellete(did i spell this right) with onions and cauliflower with mushroom and carrots. =)) must say enxin is a really gOOd cook..i'm so lucky....oh and we've got this cleaning up pdtion line where i soap the dishes, jason rinses and enxin dries...very efficient!!
went for polo training later....see...today's really a long day....swam some laps, did some handling then we played game!! kind of like preparation for sunday's game agst oxford...funny how they dun do shooting... my acccuracy is at an all time low now...ballooned real bad today...anyway the pool's like shallow on one end, like you can stand in it and the water goes up to your waist only, and deep on the other...so one goalpost is bigger than the other....game today was good....haha..impressed the guys in my team with a nice interception and pass...=p...yay..who says girls can't play polo! on the whole..game was good...think there was actually some form of teamwork going on which i do appreciate. made some new friends today....really glad i made this training. went over to southside bar for a drink and some titbits. i think i'm the only one who takes like vodka alcohol....most of them there drink beer..yup...hung ard...chatted and got to noe pple a little better....realized that the singapore 'accent' is really hard for pple to understand..yah...so must add a little bit of ang moh accent when i speak...sounds kind of weird...but at least the rest get my point after that....got chased out of the bar by this really grouchy bartender....he was like shouting at all of us...scary...walked home together with elodie(from france on exchange. stays in the same hall as me.so we go for trainings together!), gareth hayes(from wales, really nice guy who can keep a conversation going at a comfortable feel) and chai(from hk, funny guy doing neuroscience,interesting subject i must say)...yup..
so..in conclusion...i'm veRy veRy TIRED now..it's going to be another long day tmr...
